100ktpa graphite product project starts trial production in Lanzhou

Lanzhou Dongjin Carbon-based New Materials Co., Ltd. has commenced trial production at its 1.6-billion-yuan (221 million US dollars) graphite products project with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes of graphitized carbon electrode.

Construction of the project kicked off in May 2023 and basically completed in March 2024, with three roasting furnaces in trial run currently. It is expected that a total of 54 roasting furnaces will be installed by August before put into full operation by the end of this year. When fully operationally, the project would achieve an annual production value of RMB3 billion (USD415 million) along with annual tax revenue of RMB50 million (USD6.92 million), and is expected to create more than 400 jobs.
