The Energy Bureau of Guangdong Province recently issued the Implementation Plan for Promoting High-quality Energy Development in Guangdong Province (2023-2025). It is proposed to build a trillion-yuan new energy industry cluster. The province should continue to expand its solar energy industry, support enterprises such as photovoltaic equipment, inverters, packaging, and slurry to become bigger and stronger, and focus on supporting the production of efficient and low-cost crystalline silicon solar cells and key equipment manufacturing, promoting the research and development of advanced technologies such as perovskite and stacked cells, flexible thin film batteries, and photovoltaic module recycling. It should shore up the weak points of core equipment such as battery cells, enhance the independent production capacity of high-efficiency battery cell manufacturing equipment, and make the photovoltaic industry chain stronger.

It should strengthen the industrialization technology research and development of new energy storage batteries, optimize the regional layout of lithium battery manufacturing, key materials, system integration and equipment manufacturing, and battery recycling and utilization industries, enhance the degree of agglomeration of the entire industrial chain, and support the research and development and industrialization of sodium ion energy storage battery technology.
