China's first deep-sea floating wind power platform connected to grid

On May 20, CNOOC announced that China's first deep-sea floating wind power platform, CNOOC Guanlan, was successfully connected to the Wenchang oilfield complex power gride. This is the first time that China uses deep-sea floating wind power platform to directly provide power to offshore oil gas fields, indicating material technical breakthroughs in China's deep-sea wind power generation technologies. CNOOC Guanlan platform is located in the sea 136 kilometers away from Wenchang, Hainan, with an installed capacity of 7.25MW, and will be able to generate electricity of 22 million KWHs on average per year when in operation.
