Shanghai's exports of solar cell up by 58.9% in Jan-Feb

According to data released by Shanghai Customs, in the first two months of this year, the import and export value of Shanghai's foreign trade hit a record high in the history, reaching 681.56 billion yuan (99.51 billion US dollars), up by 0.7% from the same period last year. The advantageous new energy industries witnessed booming exports. The exports of electric passenger cars, lithium batteries, and solar cells continued the growth trend since the fourth quarter of last year, up by 61.1%, 194.8%, and 58.9% respectively, driving an overall export growth of 5.4 percentage points. The exports of notebook computers and mobile phones decreased by 48.7% and 18.6% respectively, and electronic products became the main factor driving down exports.
