Data released by Yunnan Development and Reform Commission showed that from January to May 2022, Yunnan produced a total of 25.48 million tons of raw coal, up by 8.6% YoY. In this period, the sales volume of commercial coal in Yunnan recorded 35.27 million tons, up by 5.8% YoY.

Among the major coal-using industries, the coal consumption volume of power industry, metallurgical industry and chemical industry increased by 19%, 12% and 32% respectively.

In addition, from January to May, Yunnan generated a total of about 120 billion kWh of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 11.69%. Yunnan sold a total of about 81.83 billion kWh of electricity, up by 6.6% YoY.
