According to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), from January to May, the national pig iron output reached 360 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9%. In May, China produced 80.49 million tons of pig iron, an increase of 2.0% year-on-year and 4.8% month-on-month. Upon the calculation, the average daily output of pig iron in May recorded nearly 2.60 million tons, up by 1.5% from the previous month.
