On the afternoon of September 17th, 2026, Mr. Mauricio Noronha, CEO of Alurion Resources Limited, and Mr. Tiago Abreu, CDO of Brazilian Rare Earths, visited Asian Metal. They had a pleasant meeting with Mr. Friday Gao, Chief Analyst, and Ms. Vivian Pang, Senior Product Manager.
Mr. Mauricio Noronha introduced the Amargosa bauxite project in Brazil. The first stage, with a production capacity of 5 million tonnes per year, is scheduled to start operation in 2029. The project, with proven resources of around 10 million tonnes, is approximately 110 km away from the existing port and will produce bauxite with Al2O3 42% min and SiO2 2.5% max. Mr. Friday Gao analyzed bauxite demand from China and supply from Africa. In addition, he listed the main reasons behind rising bauxite prices in Q3. Mr. Mauricio Noronha noted that they are open to finding partners in bauxite development and alumina refinery construction, and he would like to meet more partners at the annual Aluminum Raw Materials Summit organized by Asian Metal.
According to Mr. Tiago Abreu, Brazilian Rare Earths focuses on the development of their flagship high grade rare earth project in Brazil, Monte Alto. Monto Alto owns indicated resource of 2,510kt and referred resources of 890kt. Monte Alto ultra-high grade mineralization reports rare earth grades of 11.3% TREO with 18,570ppm Pr and Nd, 960 ppm Dy and Tb, 1,100ppm Gd and 3,780ppm Y. Mr. Tiago Abreu disclosed that they plan to sell crude concentrate and look forward to meeting more worldwide industry professionals at Asian Metal's annual Rare Earth Summit to seek for cooperation.
