The CISA plant, which was built in 1999, was jointly funded by Bayer and SENTRACHEM. In July 2004, Bayer transferred its shares of CISA to LANXESS, and in February 2007, CISA was 100% owned by LANXESS. CISA plant is located at Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, which is between Rustenburg, a chrome ore production base in South Africa, and Durban, the largest port in South Africa. It is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of chromium chemical products such as sodium dichromate, chromic anhydride and chrome tanning agent. On January 10, 2020, the plant was wholly acquired by Brother Technology Co., Ltd. in Haining, Zhejiang, China and renamed as Brother CISA.
Brother CISA South Africa has an annual production capacity of 76,000 tons of sodium dichromate, which is widely used in chrome tanning agents, chrome yellow, chromic anhydride, pharmaceutical catalysts and other dichromate salts. Its chromium powder production base in South Africa consumes nearly 20,000 tons of sodium dichromate annually, which is purchased only from South Africa.
Brother CISA produces high-end chromic anhydride products with a unique electrolysis process, which is widely used in the field of high-end electroplating. Its annual production capacity of chromic anhydride is 8,000 tons, of which 2,000 tons are sold to China.
Brother CISA South Africa recognizes Asian Metal Database and professional information, and looks forward to deepening cooperation with Asian Metal to expand its domestic and international markets with the information that Asian Metal provided.
