- On December 13, 2018, Asian Metal analyst Ms. Shelly Liu visited two Japanese companies ARA Corporation and Hayakawa Company, where she was warmly greeted by representatives from the two companies.
- On the morning of December 13, Ms. Shelly Liu first visited ARA Corporation where she met ARA president Mr. Masaaki ARA and board member Mr. Tomoaki Minamoto. According to Mr. Masaaki ARA, ARA has been dedicated to minor-metal related business for many years, particularly focusing upon metals including indium, bismuth, germanium and so on; ARA is quite interested in price movements in the Chinese market and is especially concerned about the aftermaths of the Kunming Fanya Nonferrous Metals Exchange crisis on the minor metal market. Mr. Masaaki ARA showed interest in taking part in the 12th Indium & Bismuth & Germanium & Gallium Forum to be held by Asian Metal in Zhuhai, Guangdong province on March 14-15, 2019.

- On the afternoon of December 13, Ms. Shelly Liu visited Hayakawa Company where she met its board member Mr. Yoshiyuki Nishino and Tokyo branch vice director Ms. Tomoko Oshima. Ms. Shelly introduced to them supply and demand status on germanium metal and germanium oxide, and reasons on price decreases in 2018. Mr. Yoshiyuki Nishino introduced to Shelly their main businesses, of which metal section centers upon germanium series products, and the company also has set up its China branch in Shanghai--Jinliao (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd.--for germanium-related businesses. Ms. Tomoko Oshima also made an introduction on consumption and application of germanium oxide in the Japanese market. Hayakawa has been a long-term subscriber of Asian Metal and thought highly of information it has been providing. Mr. Yoshiyuki Nishino planned to take part in the 12th Indium & Bismuth & Germanium & Gallium Forum to be held by Asian Metal in Zhuhai, Guangdong province on March 14-15, 2019.
