- On the morning of 7 March, 2018, Wei Shuyong, the Assistant to General Manager, and Helen Li, the assistant analyst of Carbon Market of Asian Metal, visited Henan Jinju Industrial Co., Ltd. and were given a warm welcome by Tian Qianfeng and Zhang Rongjun, the General Manager and the Vice General Manager of the company. Mr. Tian briefly introduced anode production and business of the company and talked about the current anode market. Mr. Tian said he would attend the 9th Primary Aluminum Raw Materials Summit to be held by Asian Metal in May.

- Afterwards, Wei Shuyong and Helen Li visited Gongyi Rongxin Carbon Products Co., Ltd. and were warmly received by Zhang Aiguo, the General Manager of the company. Mr. Zhang stated that they went into operation in the year of 2000 but restricted production by a half during the heat-supply season with production to recover in mid-March. He thought the current Chinese calcined pet coke market is not optimistic due to the overcapacity and may not work well in 2018. But thanks to stable partners, he would not worry about sales too much.

- On the afternoon of 7 March, Asian Metal visited Zhengzhou Fenghua Carbon Co., Ltd. and discussed about the anode market with Du Baojun, the General Manager of the company. Mr. Du noted that Chinese anode market sees overcapacity currently, and carbon plants in Henan have no advantage over those in Shandong. Thus, this year would be full of challenges for carbon plants in Henan. Mr. Du also revealed the willingness to attend the Primary Aluminum Raw Materials Summit to be held by Asian Metal.

- Then Asian Metal visited Henan Zhongkai Carbon Co., Ltd. and had a friendly talk with Gao Yibo, the General Manager, and Gao Sizhong, the Vice General Manager of the company. Mr. Gao Sizhong introduced their anode business and exchanged opinions with Helen Li on the anode market. Mr. Gao Yibo mentioned that with the environmental production normalized, carbon plants should increase environmental production input continuously. The anode market is sluggish now, but they would try hard to develop new downstream customers.
