Asian Metal visits tin smelting and mining plants in Jiangxi
- From April 26 to 29, analyst Gan Mianyu visited smelting plants in Jiangxi such as Ganzhou Junxing Nonferrous Metal, Nanshan Tin, Jinlong Mining, Kaiyuan Mining, Jinshunda Tin, Xiaoshan Tin and mining plants including Jinlong Tin, Zhangyuan Tungsten, Yaosheng Tungsten.
- On April 26, Gan Mianyu went to Jiangxi Ganzhou Junxing Nonferrous Metal Co., Ltd. and communicated with Huang Jun, the general manager of the company, which is mainly engaged in beneficiation and import of tantalum and niobium, tin, tungsten and others at present.
- In the morning of April 27, Gan Mianyu reached Jiangxi Nanshan Tin and visited the smelting workshop of the company with Hu Jinlong, the vice-manager of Nanshan Tin, who introduced their technological processes and current production. Then Gan Mianyu interviewed Huang Xueyou, the general manager of the company, who expected that tin price will fluctuate within RMB100,000-120,000/t (USD15,385-18,462/t) in 2016. In the afternoon, Gan Mianyu went to Jinlong Mining, Kaiyuan Mining successively. Huang Xuezhong, the general manager of Jinlong Mining noted that tin market condition will be hard to improve in the second half of 2016 as tin smelting plants have difficulties in purchasing raw material. In addition, He Renhui and Fan Qixin of Kaiyuan Mining disclosed that they will make limited profits in 2016 as it is hard to expect the price trend of tin.
- Then Gan Mianyu drove to Chongyi county of Ganzhou and visited Zhangyuan Tungsten, Huachang Mining and Yaosheng Tungsten one after another. According to Guo Mingqi of Zhangyuan Tungsten, as tin price fluctuates at low levels, they merely keeps the monthly output for tin concentrate 60%min at about 60t. Qiu Shanlin of Yaosheng Tungsten noted that due to the continually decreasing price for tin, they didn't sell tin concentrate in 2015 and still hold a large volume of stocks now. Supported by government, Huachang Minging is actively preparing for adding tin ingot production lines which are expected to go into production in 2017.
- On April 28, Gan Mianyu arrived at Huichang county of Ganzhou, where she visited Jinshunda Tin, Xiaoshan Tin and Jinlong Tin and other companies respectively. Xie Jinsong from Jinshunda Tin remarked that they won't expand production in 2016 as it is hard to expect tin price trend in the second half of 2016. Zhang Yongming, Peng Xu and others from Xiaoshan Tin noted that they hold a pessimistic attitude towards the price trend of tin in 2016. Owning the best mining conditions among China and centralized mining sources, Jinlong Tin disclosed that the quality of their mine is lower than before as the tin content of the mine is only 0.6% or so.
- On April 29, Gan Mianyu returned to Ganzhou where she exchanged opinions with Mr. Wang Zhongkui, director of Tin Branch of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. Gan Mianyu sincerely invited Mr. Wang to attend World Tin Mining Forum 2016 organized by Asian Metal and deliver a speech on the forum. Meanwhile, Mr. Wang hoped that tin research organizations and companies to cooperate with each other in order to realize common development of tin industry.
