60ktpy graphitized cathode block project breaks ground in Qixian

On May 24, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the relocation and construction project of the graphitized cathode material production line of Qixian Huatong Carbon Co., Ltd. The project, undertaken by Shanxi CIG (Construction Investment Group) Third Construction Group Co., Ltd., is designated as a key industrial upgrading initiative in Qixian.

With a total investment of RMB200 million (USD29.50 million), the project spans 50.3 mu (3.35 hectares) of planned land and features a total floor area of 20,000 square meters. Construction includes main production facilities such as raw material and calcining workshops, forming workshops, baking workshops, impregnation workshops, graphitization workshops, and machine-finishing workshops. Auxiliary facilities will also be built, including an integrated office building, plant roads, pipeline systems, and site hardening.

Once fully completed and operational, the project will have an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of graphitized cathode blocks, generating an estimated annual output value of RMB500 million (USD73.75 million) and an annual profit and tax revenue of RMB 10 million (USD1.47 million). The project is also expected to create more than 200 local jobs.
