On January 10 local time, the World Bank released the latest Global Economic Outlook report, which lowered the global economic growth forecast for 2023 to 1.7%, lower than the 3% expected in June 2022.

The report said that this would be the third lowest global growth rate in the past 30 years after the economic recession in 2009 and 2020.
