According to the spokesperson Meng Wei of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on May 17, the commission considers expanding the Catalogue of Industries for Encouraging Foreign Investment. The commission hopes to increase total investment volume and optimize investment structure, and encourages foreign investment into manufacturing and service industries as well as to central, western and northeastern China.
