Shanxi Hongda Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. has commenced production at its upgraded speed wire rod project with a production capacity of 700,000 tonnes per annum, about 10% higher than the initial capacity.

The project broke ground in November 2023 before starting hot commissioning on April 18, 2024. It mainly produces steel rod of Φ5.5mm~Φ25.0mm, including carbon structural steel, welding steel, cold forging steel, high-quality carbon structural steel, structural alloy steel, spring steel and ball bearing steel.
