China vows to boost construction of basic mining infrastructure

It was learned from the National Mine Safety Production Work Conference that China will boost the construction of basic mining infrastructure and promote the establishment of a mine safety production standardization system.

According to the National Mine Safety Administration, the year 2024 will focus on implementing guidelines on further ensuring work safety in mines as well as strengthening safety inspection and risk control.

In 2023, China vigorously carry out investigations and rectifications of major accident hazards in mines. A total of 460,200 hidden hazards in coal mines, including 2,269 major hazards, was found in the year, with a rectification rate of 91.4%; inspections found 413,000 potential hazards in non-coal mines, including 12,100 major hidden dangers, and the rectification rate reached 89.3%.
