Edwin Basson, the Director General of WorldSteel, said steel demand rebounded greatly and faster than expected in 2021, thanks to improved vaccination coverage and supportive anti-epidemic measures from governments. Global steel demand is expected to grow 2.2% to 1,896.4 million tons by 2022.
