According to the High Quality Development Plan for New Materials Industry (2021-2025) issued by Inner Mongolia, the region will strive to achieve the following goals by 2025: More than 4 million tons of advanced steel material capacity, over 2 million tons of nonferrous metal capacity, over 200,000 tons of rare earth new material capacity, over 1 million tons of silicon material capacity, over 1.6 million tons of building and non-metallic mineral material capacity, more than 1 million tons of carbon material capacity, more than 2 million tons of advanced chemical material capacity and RMB230 billion (USD36 billion) output value from the new materials industry.
