The signing ceremony for the high-performance and ultra-thin lithium battery copper foil key technology and equipment R&D and industrialization project jointly developed by Hainan Zijing Investment Co., Ltd., Qujing Science and Technology Bureau, and Yunnan Provincial Academy of Science and Technology was held on September 10.

The three project parties will together invest about RMB3.5 billion yuan (541 million US dollars) and take full advantage of their own strength to build an ultra-thin lithium battery copper foil production base in Qujing which will act as a research and development platform for key technologies and industrialization of new materials. The project will first realize mass production of 4.5μm high-end lithium battery copper foil with an annual production capacity of 50,000t, laying a solid foundation for the establishment of a leading battery and materials production, R&D and application demonstration base and a green battery industrial cluster in China, as well as a world-leading green energy brand.
