U.S makes final judgment of third anti-dumping sunset review on magnesium metal from China

On September 16, 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued an announcement to make an affirmative final judgment of the third sunset review on magnesium metal imported from China, ruling that if the current anti-dumping measures are cancelled, the import of the products involved in the case will continue or recur at a dumping rate of 141.49%. The products involved in the case are under the United States harmonized tariff No. 8104.19.00 and 8104.30.00.

On March 25, 2004, the U.S. Department of Commerce initiated an anti-dumping investigation on magnesium metal originating in China. On April 15, 2005, the United States formally imposed anti-dumping duties on magnesium metal originating in China. After the United States made the affirmative final of the first anti-dumping sunset review on the above-mentioned products involved, the United States extended the anti-dumping duties for the products involved for the first time on March 11, 2011. After the United States made the affirmative final decision of second anti-dumping sunset review on the above-mentioned products involved, the United States extended the anti-dumping duties for the products involved for the second time on July 21, 2016. On June 1, 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued an announcement to initiate the third anti-dumping sunset review investigation on magnesium metal imported from China.
