On September 17, Golmud-located Wutumeiren multi-energy power generation project started construction. The project will be constructed by CGDG Qinghai New Energy Company and is one of Qinghai major power generation projects in 2021.

With a planned investment of RMB19.58 billion (USD3.03 billion), the project will have a total installed capacity of 3.3GW, including 3GW photovoltaic capacity, and will be completely built within the Fourteenth Five-year period (2021-2025).
