Marco Industries cuts secondary aluminum alloy production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 21 - Marco Industries Ltd, a major secondary aluminum alloy producer in Russia, cut production from early April and might produce 600t in April, down from around 900t in March, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.

"We would produce around 600t in April, down from around 900t last month," said the source, noting that the demand became weak from late last month after auto producers cut production. They mainly export secondary aluminum alloy to Japan and hold no stock now. Based on the production capacity of 18,000tpy, they produced around 8,500t in 2020 and around 2,200t in Q1 this year.

Present mainstream export prices of AK5M2 secondary aluminum alloy keep at USD1,880-1,920/t FOB Russia, compared with around USD2,080-2,120/t one month ago, because of the weakening demand from Japan.
