BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 21 - As one of the main caustic calcined magnesia producers in China, Liaoning Dashiqiao Hongkai Refractory Co. suspended production early this month due to the strengthened environmental inspection and plans to resume production in early May.

"We halted production a week ago to accept environmental inspection and intend to resume production one month later," a source from the company disclosed, adding that they hold no stock now. Due to the reduced supply, they believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese caustic calcined magnesia would move up in the coming week.

With a production capacity of 200,000tpy, they produced about 15,000t in 2020. They predict to produce about 15,000t in May. Now they hold no stock, unchanged MoM.

The current mainstream prices of Chinese caustic calcined magnesia 90%min 200mesh stand at RMB1,285-1,335/t (USD197-205/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/A 180 days, in line with late last week.
