Linwu Southern Mines resumes tin concentrate production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Apr 21 - Linwu Southern Mines Co., Ltd., one of major tin concentrate 60%min producers in Hunan, resumed tin concentrate production on Tuesday and expected to produce about 250 metal tons of tin concentrate in April, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.

"We restart operation of our dressing plant today and expect an output of about 250 metal tons of tin concentrate 60%min in April," the source said. They resumed production of their mine in mid-February and accumulated raw ore for production resumption of the dressing plant with a high handling capacity.

The company excavates tin raw ore with the grade of about 0.6% from its own mine and owns two production lines with a daily handling capacity of 1,000t each in its dressing plant. They totally produced around 2,200 metal tons of tin concentrate 60%min in 2020 and recorded no output in February 2021 due to production suspension, expecting to produce about 250 metal tons in April and holding no tin concentrate 60%min stock for the moment.

On Tuesday, mainstream prices for tin concentrate 60%min were RMB176,000-178,000/metal ton (USD26,924-27,230/metal ton) in Chinese market, up by RMB5,000/metal ton (USD765/metal ton) from last Friday. In view of tight supply, the source predicted that tin concentrate 60%min prices would remain firm in the following week.
