Recently, Delong Liyang Baorun Steel Co., Ltd. released details of the construction of its high-end stainless steel project. The project was built in the original plant of Jiangsu Shente Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. in Liyang, Jiangsu. After completion, this project will have an annual production capacity of 2.8 million tons of stainless steel products.

It was said that with a total investment of RMB17.6 billion (USD2.68 billion), this project will cover an area of 2,285mu. It will include a 2,680mm hot-rolled coiled plate production line with the world largest annual capacity of six million tons, a stainless steel billet smelting production line with an annual capacity of three million tons, and a stainless steel sheet and plate 3500 steckel-mill production line with an annual capacity of one million tons. This project started construction in late December 2020 and the 2,680mm hot-rolling project will start production in August 2021. The steel-making projection line and the 3500 steckel-mill production line will begin operation in late 2021. When the project reaches capacity, it will achieve a terminal sales revenue of over RMB100 billion (USD15.25 billion) and pay taxes over RMB1.5 billion (USD229 million).
