Dajingzi Tin overhauls electric furnaces

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Apr 21 - Chifeng Dajingzi Tin Industry Co., Ltd., one of major tin ingot 99.95%min producers in North China, began to overhaul its electric furnaces in turn from early March, resulting in a month-on-month decline of 50% in tin ingot output in March, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.

"We began to overhaul our electric furnaces in turn from early March and our output fell to about 200t in March," the source noted, adding that the regular maintenance lasted around one month. The company holds no tin ingot stock for the time being.

With three electric furnaces of 1,250kVA and an annual production capacity of 8,000t of tin ingot 99.95%min, the company totally produced around 4,000t of tin ingot in 2020 and around 200t of the material in March 2021, against 420t in February.

On Wednesday, mainstream prices for tin ingot 99.95%min were RMB172,500-174,500/t (USD26,329-26,634/t) in Chinese market, down by RMB2,500/t (USD382/t) from Tuesday. In view of steady deals, the source predicted that tin ingot 99.95%min prices would remain relatively stable in the coming week.
