On March 29, Nantong Xinjiayuan Semiconductor held a groundbreaking ceremony of Optoelectronics Project.

The project is located in Nantong High-tech Zone, with a total investment of RMB5 billion (USD773.78 million). The plant will be completed in the second half of 2022, and equipment installation and commissioning will be carried out in the first half of 2023, and trial production will start in September of that year. After the project is fully put into production, it can produce 2 billion semiconductor laser chips of various types and 4 million sets of various semiconductor laser components annually, and realize annual taxable sales of RMB6 billion (USD928.54 million).
