Zhazixi Antimony Mine in pilot production of antimony ingot

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Mar 21 - After finishing the upgrading of its blast furnace technology, Hunan Anhua Zhazixi Mining Co., Ltd. came into pilot production of antimony ingot 99.85%min on around March 5th, but is still in debugging stage now, expecting to produce only about 200t of the material throughout March, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.

The source said, "We came into the pilot production period from March 5th after finishing the upgrading of our blast furnace technology, but our output is unstable at the moment. We expect to produce about only 200t of the material in March and the output in April is still uncertain." The company's daily handling capacity of antimony ingot 99.85%min will increase from 45t to 60t if its pilot production is successful. The company holds no stocks in hand and still has some orders to deliver, so it temporarily makes no antimony ingot 99.85%min quotation now.

With an annual production capacity of 8,000t of antimony ingot 99.85%min, the company produced about 6,500t of the material in 2020 and expects that its output in 2021 would reach 6,800t, including about 200t in March 2021. It holds no stocks for the time being, unchanged from the same period of last month.

Mainstream prices for Chinese antimony ingot 99.85%min stand at RMB70,000-71,000/t (USD10,755-15,909/t) EXW D/P currently, steady from late last week. Although some traders had to cut their prices to recoup funds, the company keeps its price firm now owing to zero stocks in hand. The source thinks that the antimony ingot 99.85%min prices in the domestic market would be decided directly by the recovery situation of the demand.
