Xintian Zhengfeng resumes cadmium ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 5 Mar 21 - One of major Chinese cadmium ingot 99.99%min producers, Xintian Zhengfeng Industry Co. resumed cadmium ingot production on 1th Mar and plans to produce around 100t during this month, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.

The source said, "Due to the Spring Festival, the market saw few deals considering most downstream consumers kept far away from the market, so we halted cadmium ingot 99.99%min production since 4th February and just began to produce the production this Monday." In view of limited raw materials, they expect to produce about 100t in March, down by about 50t from usual month's output. They offer RMB17,000/t (USD1.20/lb) EXW D/P for cadmium ingot 99.99%min presently and refuse to sell below RMB16,900/t (USD1.18/lb) EXW D/P for firm bids. They believe that the prices would keep firm in the coming week given firm prices from producers.

The producers, based on a production capacity of 6,000tpy of cadmium ingot 99.99%min, expects to produce about 100t this month but didn't produce during February. They produced about 150t in January and around 1,750t totally in 2021. They hold around 100t of inventories presently, the same as the end of last month.

Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese cadmium ingot 99.99%min hover at RMB16,300-16,900/t (USD1.14-1.18/lb) EXW D/P, unchanged from early last week. The market runs slowly as most consumers refuse to buy with enough stocks now.
