Recently, China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and Raw Material Industry Department held a seminar on expanding the application of aluminum.

The meeting summarized the achievements, experiences and shortcomings of expanding the application of aluminum, analyzed the consumption potential of aluminum and the key direction of expanding the application. The delegates believed that aluminum has excellent characteristics such as light weight, high strength, easy to process and mold, corrosion resistance and recyclability, and has great consumption potential, but it still faces problems such as quality to be improved, high application cost, imperfect standards and specifications, and poor connection between supply and demand. The next step should be: promote the organic combination of expanding domestic demand and deepening supply-side structural reform, adhere to technological innovation and business model innovation, give full play to the advantages of structural and functional integration of aluminum, focus on key fields and products, fully tap the consumption potential of aluminum in transportation, packaging containers, mechanical equipment, building structure, emergency rescue and other fields, and promote the high-quality development of aluminum industry.
