Guizhou Wuling Manganese resumes manganese flake production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Jan 21 - Guizhou Wuling Manganese Co., one of major manganese flake producers in China, resumed manganese flake 99.7%min production on January 23th, and they expect to produce about 2,300t in January, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.

"We resumed manganese flake 99.7%min production on January 23th, and we expect to produce about 2,300t in January. Our manganese flake plant suspended production for manganese flake 99.7%min for equipment maintenance on January 5th," the source said, adding that they had four production lines for manganese flake 99.7%min production and resumed all four lines for production. They have no offer at present because they are still delivering to the steel mill. They bought about 20t at RMB61.8/kg (USD9.6/kg) delivered D/P for Chinese selenium dioxide 98%min two weeks ago, and they could use them until March. As most suppliers hold their prices now, they predict that the prices of Chinese manganese flake 99.7%min would keep firm in the forthcoming week.

With an annual production capacity of about 80,000t of manganese flake 99.7%min and an output of around 67,500t in 2019, the company has four production lines totally, they expect to produce about 2,300t this month, compared to about 6,700t last month. The producer is holding no stock at the moment, compared to about 1,000t last month. They produced about 62,900t in 2020.

Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese manganese flake 99.7%min stand at RMB16,300-16,500/t (USD2,531-2,562/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from last week.
