Zinc smelter of holding subsidiary of Baiyin Nonferrous ceases production

Baiyin Nonferrous announced on January 22 that, Chengzhou Zinc Smelter of Gansu Changba Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the company, was notified by the Longnan Municipal Bureau of Ecological Environment recently, telling that the concentration of thallium in the water of the Jialing River was abnormal, and enterprises in the city were required to conduct self-examination.

At present, the People's Government of Longnan City initiates a Level III response to environmental pollution. Chengxian is taking various measures to carry out disposal work. The thallium content of Qingni River shows a sharp decline, and the cause of the incident is under investigation. After the incident, Chengzhou Zinc Smelter, in accordance with the requirements of the local government, immediately shut down production and carried out self-examination.
