JA Solar Technology to build battery and module project in Yangzhou

JA Solar Technology announced on January 24 that its wholly-owned subsidiary JA Solar signed a Strategic Investment Framework Agreement with the Management Committee of Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone on January 23, 2021 to invest in the construction of cell and module project in Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project will be constructed in two phases. In the first phase, 10GW battery and 6GW module projects will be constructed, with a planned total investment of RMB6 billion (USD926 million). The total investment of the second phase is RMB4 billion (USD617 million). The first phase of the project includes the "Investment and Construction of 6GW High-efficiency Solar Cell Project in Yangzhou" and "Investment and Construction of 6GW High-power Module Project in Yangzhou" which have been approved by the board of directors of the company. The remaining 4GW cell project and the phase II project need to be reviewed within the company according to the investment amount before implementation. At the same time, JA Solar signed the Strategic Investment Agreement with the Management Committee of Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, which made specific agreements on the implementation of the phase I project.
