China's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 2.3% year on year (in comparable price) to about 101.60 trillion yuan (15.67 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2020, exceeding the 100-trillion-yuan threshold for the first time in history, said Ning Jizhe, head of the National Bureau of Statistics during a news conference held by the State Council Information Office on January 18.
