According to the data released by China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) on January 13, Chinese major steel mills produced about 20.52 million tons of steel products in early January 2020. The average daily output was about 2.05 million tons during the period, down by 8.31% MOM but up by 11.94% YOY.

During the reported period, major steel mills held the steel products inventory of about 13.03 million tons, up by about 1.41 million tons or 12.10% from late December, while up by about 2.52 million tons or 24.04% from the same period of last year.
