Xinjiang Yinet to suspend production of green silicon carbide

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Jan 21 - One of the major green silicon carbide producers in China, Xinjiang Yinet New Energy Co. plans to suspended production on January 25th for Chinese New Year and would resume production on March 1st, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.

"In view of Chinese New Year, we plan to halt production of green silicon carbide late this month and expect to resume production in early March. We hold around 1,000t of stocks and would not ship due to the limit logistics during the holiday," the source claimed, adding that although the prices of raw materials increased, they intend to hold the price unchanged as the clients would refuse to purchase if the prices increase. They predict that the prices of Chinese green silicon carbide 98%min 10-30cm would keep unchanged in the coming week.

The company, based on a production capacity of 45,000tpy of green silicon carbide, expects an output of around 1,500t in January, the same as last month. They produced around 14,000t in 2020 and plan to produce about 15,000t in 2021. They hold around 1,000t of stocks at the moment, in line with last month.

The current mainstream prices of Chinese green silicon carbide 98.5%min 10-30cm stay at RMB7,500-7,700/t (USD1,158-1,189/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/A 180 days, unchanged from one month ago.
