Launch ceremony for Qingdao Huike 6-inch wafer semiconductor project held

On 6 January, the launch ceremony for Qingdao Huike 6-inch wafer semiconductor project was held in Jimo district, Qingdao, indicating mass production of the 6-inch wafer semiconductor project, one of first projects with independent design in Shandong. After reaching designed production capacity, the project will be the power device production base with the highest unit output in China.

Jointly invested and constructed by Shenzhen Huike Investment Co., Ltd. and Jimo Mashan Industry Development Co., Ltd., Huike 6-inch wafer semiconductor project is a whole industry chain project integrating design, manufacturing and package test of power semiconductor devices. After going into commercial production, the project is able to provide products for high-speed train power system, automobile power system, consumer and communication electronics system and other fields. Once reaching designed production capacity, the project is expected to produce 200,000 pieces of chip and achieve 100,000 pieces of WLCSP per month.

According to Liang Hongchun, General Manager of Qingdao Huike Microelectronics Co., Ltd., the company conducted pilot production repeatedly in laboratories before putting the project into mass production. They expect to produce 100,000 pieces of chip per month by June 2021 and record a monthly output of 200,000 pieces of chip by the first quarter of 2022.
