It is reported that the construction of the Longxiang Tantalum-Niobium Project in Jiulong Industrial Park, Yanling Industrial Concentration Zone, is currently stepping up. Two steel-framed workshops within the project have been erected and the main construction is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

In May of this year, Yanling County signed a cooperation agreement with Changsha South Tantalum-Niobium Co., Ltd., planning to invest RMB600 million (USD91.66 million) to build the Longxiang Tantalum-Niobium Project, which mainly produces tantalum-niobium rods, tantalum-niobium powder and other products.

The Longxiang Tantalum-Niobium Project started construction in July this year, planning to build a production line with an annual output of 500 tons of tantalum and niobium products. After realizing the planned production in the first phase, it will have an annual production capacity of 100 tons of tantalum powder (including 50 tons of tantalum bars and 50 tons of niobium bars). According to the project manager, they are speeding up their building. It is expected that all construction tasks can be completed before the Spring Festival, and the project will be completed and put into commercial production by the end of February next year.
