Yubang Mining resumes zinc concentrate production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Dec 20 - Chifeng Yubang Mining Co., Ltd., one of main zinc concentrate producers in Inner Mongolia, resumed production early last week with the completion of renovation and expansion of the dressing plant, and produced about 200 metal tons in November, a source from the company told Asian Metal.

Due to the renovation and expansion of the dressing plant, the company stopped producing zinc concentrate in late October. "Our dressing plant had a daily processing capacity of 2,000 tons previously, and has expanded to 5,000 tons now. We have resumed production for about a week, and the zinc concentrate output in November was around 200 metal tons," the source said. The company is a controlled subsidiary of Guocheng Mining and owns the mining right of the silver-lead-zinc deposit in Shuangjianzi Mountain mining area, Balin Left Banner, Inner Mongolia. The main and paragenetic silver-lead-zinc deposit resource volume is 158.98 million tons. In particular, the lead metal content is 389,000 tons with the average grade of Pb1.03%, zinc metal content is 1.5 million tons with the average grade of Zn1.46%, silver metal content is 15,129 tons with the average grade of Ag138.34g/t. It mainly produces silver concentrate and zinc concentrate 45%min, and zinc concentrate is mainly sold to zinc smelters in surrounding areas.

With an annual production capacity of 18,000 metal tons of zinc concentrate, the company produced about 500 metal tons in October and about 200 metal tons in November, holding no stock at the moment.

Mainstream prices of zinc concentrate 50%min stood at RMB15,400-15,700/metal ton (USD2,342-2,388/metal ton) in the local market this Monday, up by RMB400/metal ton (USD60.84/metal ton) from late last week.
