Japan's crude steel output in April-October falls by 24.7% YOY

According to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation, in the first seven months of this fiscal year (April to October), Japan's crude steel output was 44.29 million tons, a decrease of 24.7% from the same period last year.

Data show that in October, Japan's crude steel output was 7.2 million tons, down by 11.7% year-on-year and up by 11% month-on-month.

In October, Japan's ordinary steel output was 5.72 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.7% YOY, and an increase of 11.4% month-on-month; the output of special steel was 1,453,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.8% and a month-on-month increase of 9.8%.

In October, Japan's total converter output was 5.30 million tons, down by 13.1% year-on-year and up by 11.5% month-on-month; electric arc furnace output was 1,897,800 tons, down by 7.3% year-on-year and up by 9.6% month-on-month.

Data show that in October, Japan's hot-rolled steel coil output was 2,959,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.8%, and a month-on-month increase of 11.3%; H-beam steel output was 295,100 tons, an increase of 6.7% YOY and 8.8% MOM .

In October, Japan's pig iron output was 5,116,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16.1% and a month-on-month increase of 10.1%.
