According to the latest data released by National Statistical Office of Mongolia, Mongolia produced 4.89 million tons of coal (including hard coal and lignite), an increase of 2.6% over last September and 71.5% from August. Among them, the output of hard coal was 4.41 million tons, up by 3.3% year on year; lignite output was 483,300t, down by 3.0% against the same period of last year.
From January to September, Mongolia produced 22.89 million tons of coal, a year-on-year decrease of 15.70 million tons or 40.7%. Among them, the output of hard coal was 18.56 million tons, down by 45.5% from a year ago; lignite output was 4.33 million tons, down by 4.4% year on year.
