According to SAIC Volkswagen, SAIC Volkswagen's new energy vehicle (NEV) factory is located in Anting, Shanghai and is the latest achievement of the deepening cooperation between SAIC and Volkswagen. The total investment of the new factory project is about 17 billion yuan (USD2.52 billion), with an designed annual production capacity of 300,000 units of vehicles. It is planned to be officially put into operation in October 2020. It is the largest pure electric vehicle factory with the highest efficiency in China.
