BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Oct 19 - As one major rebar producer in Henan, Anyang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (Anyang Steel) plans to produce around 90,000t of rebar in November, up from 60,000t in October.

"We are going to operate 260 rolling mill unit with full capacity in November but we failed to do it in October due to shortage of raw materials," said a source from Anyang Steel, adding that the company stopped rebar production during October 1-8 to apply to the environmental protection inspection. According to the source, the company has no intention to restart 300 rolling mill unit, which has been shut down since August 26, as the demand from building sites will gradually shrink in coming two months, when the winter comes. In addition, the company might continue to face pollution curbs in November.

Anyang Steel has two rebar production lines with an annual production capacity of 2.0 million tons. Planning to produce around 1.45 million tons of rebar in 2019, similar to that in 2018, the company witnessed an output of 1.12 million tons more or less in the first ten months of this year, holding an inventory of 2,000t in hand at present.

In Anyang, Henan, the price of rebar HRB400E Φ20mm from Anyang Steel was RMB3,640/t (USD516/t) on Tuesday, down by RMB10/t (USD1.4/t) from Monday.
